Create our Community Charter
🗓️ Sunday 13th July 2025 - 2pm to 4pm
📍 Exeter Community Centre, 17 St David's Hill, EX4 3RG
At our next assembly on Sunday 13th July, we'll be creating a Community Charter that outlines the most pressing issues and priorities facing our community, along with the actions we plan to take together.
We’ll incorporate the themes and ideas that have emerged from our assemblies over the past couple of years to develop a clear and detailed picture of what matters to us.
This will help shape the collective actions we intend to take - potentially in partnership with local businesses, voluntary groups, local authorities, and other organisations.
The event will be our first ever to feature live music! We are proud to announce that we’ll be joined by local musician and activist Poppy Jabelman, who has agreed to play some live music for us during our break!
Our national and local governments are failing to meet the needs of ordinary people. By coming together and talking about what is important to us and what we can do about it, we can revitalise our communities and our democracy to create the better future we know is possible.
Come along to discuss how you and your neighbourhood can drive change and become active citizens!
Bring your own mug! We'll provide tea, coffee and biscuits 😊
Our Positive Future: Get Involved!
🗓️ Sunday 6th July 2025 - 1pm to 1:45pm and 4:45pm to 6pm
📍 Exeter Phoenix, Gandy St, Exeter EX4 3LS
Exeter Community Assembly are teaming up with Exeter Science Centre on an assembly aimed at getting people involved with co-creating a vision for ‘Our Positive Future’ in Exeter. We’ll use participation, deliberation, and facilitated small-group conversations to enable people to discuss what the community can do collectively to tackle and adapt to climate change, and what we can tangibly do in Exeter to make the biggest difference.

There are two coupled sessions for the Green Phoenix Festival (you can join one or both):
- Part 1 (at 1pm) we'll summarise Exeter Science Centre's Our Positive Future initiative; the themes and ideas, and highlight and discuss key opportunities for future projects that participants may want to get involved in.
- Part 2 (at 4:45pm), we'll form discussion groups to develop Our Positive Future further. You will have the opportunity to discuss ideas and what we can do together as a community. We hope it will lead to ongoing collaborations between diverse groups: so signing up to both sessions is encouraged!
